Team only meeting

Nate forced the Blazers to have a player only meeting:

McMillan, who has long complained that his players have never called a team meeting during this trying season, said he issued an ultimatum after his postgame talk: The players had to talk and work things out before their bodies touched the water in the shower.
This doesn't surprise me:

Some players -- most notably Darius Miles and Zach Randolph -- jetted from the locker room before the media was done talking to McMillan.
While:

The others were left walking in zombie-like trances, unsure of what to make from the game, the season, and the meeting.
On what was said:

"Well, there's frustrations. Guys were speaking their minds. Sometimes you have to do that to get better," Blake said. "I don't know . . . there just was a lot of things said."
Hope it helps. It would have been better if the players themselves had wanted to have the meeting, but anything is better than nothing.

if the NBA only had non gtd contracts....
Funny thing about this is, it was probably the younger players scolding the veterans for not giving a ****....

Theo Ratliff always looks like he's too cool to be playing for the Blazers.....Get a clue Theo, you're in the NBA making millions of dollars...And by looking at your career "DNP's", you aren't too good for the Blazers...

Randolph, no need to give up on the game and use the old "my knee is acting up again", just because the team is getting slaughtered at the half and you're 2-10 from the field...

Darius, well Darius is Darius...Wasted talent.

This team needs to get Theo and Darius out of here as soon as possible, they are horrible influences for our younger guys and worthless anyways...

I'm hoping someone is willing to give us something half way decent in return for those guys in the offseason, but if not I would give those guys up for a bag of chips and granola bar if it comes down to it...

This team is absolutely horrible right now, probably the worst of the year...and outside of Theo Ratliff we are a healthy team...It seems almost like when we were injured (Darius, Theo) earlier in the year we were playing awfully better...

i hope there are a lot of changes that happen if allen doesn vote them all ARGGGGGHH
I don't see much changing as long as PA is the owner. But perhaps he'll get a GM he trusts more and allow that GM to pull the trigger on deals that he might not let Nash do. Only speculation of course.
TRADE THE WHOLE BUNCH FOR BEER
even PBR
Unbelievable...you have to FORCE a team to have a team meeting.

Yeah, there's lots of leadership going on on that team...leadership to the bottom of the pile.
I think there are young players (Telfair/Jack) who want to lead, and a few guys like Pryzbilla\Dixon who normally are not such players by nature but b\c of the void are uncomfortably being forced into such...but the real problem lies in 2 guys...Zach & Miles...I throw Theo out b\c 1) He isn't that good of a player to warrant respect as a team leader & 2) He shut it down awhile ago (showing his true colors...err...lack of leadership\fight\passion IMO)

These are the two best players on the team at this point in time, and if they aren't listening, there is not much you can do...and they clearly are not listening and have clearly mailed it in for the rest of the year....

Honestly, if I was Nate I would bench the both of them for the rest of the year, or at least for a few games (at least to see if they come to Nate and ask to play)...and I think Nate has already gone into semi-shutdown mode with both of them (Miles moreso than Zach)...he ought to just complete what he has started...sit them...let them watch and then maybe then he can really see what sort of character these guys really have, and my guess is...it will not be a positive result (ie asking to fight the last few games out with their teamates)...

At least then you know what needs to be done...

This is the crux of the problem here, the team's two best players are 1) clearly not as good as mgmt thought they were\could be & 2) are quitters...

Miles isn't even worth a 40 of PBR...going to have to take cheap Malt liqour for him. Maybe Old English if we are lucky but more likely a cheaper brand like Cammo or Steel Reserve. Horse piss in a bottle = Miles. Yeh that sounds about right.

PBR is as cheap as it gets.

Wrong...you need to buy beer in the ghetto or anywhere near a college campus. Old E, Mickeys, Steel Reserve, Cammo, Big Bear. All cheaper..

PBR may be the cheapest "beer" you can find but there are cheaper Malt liqours.

Uhh, Don't you think Zbo's kneee hurting has something to do with why he's 2 of 10? Zbo was tearing it up a couple weeks ago, and it was obvious he was trying to carry the team. Why is it so hard to believe that he tried too hard, too soon, and caused his knee to act up?

How about the Columbian reporting that he never iced his sore knee, nor favored it all night?

Zach Randolph was 2 for 10 from the field, scored five points, then sat out the second half with a sore right knee, though the knee wasn't wrapped or iced as he sat on the bench.

Ya, when I started the thread this isn't what I expected.

Talk about cheap alcohol what about mad dog 40/40? I think that's what it's called. Not a beer but cheap rot gut ****. My sister once in her younger days drank most of a bottle and threw the rest at a cop car.
nasty ice is 15$ for a 30 pack after deposit
