OK, I've been tracking some numbers for the Blazers over the last 10 games. Here are the results:

Portland's record: 5-5

Portland has been outscored by 11 points (962 to 973)

Average Game Scores using the scoring system outlined by Ed O. here

Zach Randolph 14.03 (10 games)
Rasheed Wallace 13.81 (9 games)
Ruben Patterson 10.16 (10 games)
Damon Stoudamire 10.10 (10 games)
Darius Miles 8.18 (6 games)
Derek Anderson 7.72 (10 games)
Wesley Person 4.75 (10 games)
Jeff McInnis 3.47 (3 games)
Vladimir Stepania 2.38 (8 games)
Dale Davis 2.32 (10 games)
Qyntel Wods 1.42 (10 games)
Travis Outlaw 0.10 (3 games)

Plus/Minus Ratings

Jeff McInnis 14.67 (3 games)
Darius Miles 8.83 (6 games)
Vladimir Stepania 7.25 (8 games)
Travis Outlaw 3.67 (3 games)
Rasheed Wallace 1.78 (9 games)
Derek Anderson 1.30 (10 games)
Wesley Person 1.30 (10 games)
Ruben Patterson -0.50 (10 games)
Qyntel Woods -2.30 (10 games)
Zach Randolph -2.70 (10 games)
Damon Stoudamire -4.10 (10 games)
Dale Davis -7.10 (10 games)

Again, a player's +/- rating is an indication of how the team scored while the player was on the court in relation to how they scored when they were on the bench. In other words, a score of 0.00 is the average player, one which over the long run will see the team either outscore their opponents or be outscored by them by the same amount whether they are on the court or on the bench.

And, of course, players like Stepania and Outlaw will have slightly skewed results since their on-court time is limited.

Have at it.....

interesting. as bad as our backup PG situation has been, I would've expected Damon's numbers to sky rocket into the positives. the numbers say that we're better off with no point guard at all.

I was going to post more this morning, but got things came up.....you understand.

Anyway, here's the rest of my post:

Game Scores in the 5 wins
Rasheed Wallace 15.80 (5 games)
Zach Randolph 13.24 (5 games)
Damon Stoudamire 12.62 (5 games)
Derek Anderson 12.12 (5 games)
Ruben Patterson 8.28 (5 games)
Darius Miles 6.83 (4 games)
Jeff McInnis 4.00 (1 game)
Wesley Person 2.22 (5 games)
Dale Davis 1.86 (5 games)
Qyntel Woods 1.50 (5 games)
Vladimir Stepania 1.50 (3 games)
Travis Outlaw -0.50 (2 games)

Games Scores in the 5 losses
Zach Randolph 14.82 (5 games)
Ruben Patterson 12.04 (5 games)
Rasheed Wallace 11.33 (4 games)
Darius Miles 10.90 (2 games)
Damon Stoudamire 7.58 (5 games)
Wesley Person 7.28 (5 games)
Derek Anderson 3.32 (5 games)
Jeff McInnis 3.20 (2 games)
Vladimir Stepania 2.90 (5 games)
Dale Davis 2.78 (5 games)
Qyntel Woods 1.34 (5 games)
Travis Outlaw 1.30 (1 game)

Derek Anderson, Damon Stoudamire and Rasheed Wallace saw their scores improve dramatically (difference of at least 4.00) when the Blazers won. Or should I say, the Blazers won when their scores were higher....

On the other hand, Person, Miles and Patterson actually had significantly higher scores (difference of at least 3.50) when the Blazers lost.

Thanks for doing this SCBF.... it is appreciated. I am a bit surprised at the +/- ratings though.
