Am I the only one who finds this to be truly pathetic??

Not spamming other boards, but the fact that the people who run other web sites would come complaining and whining to Ron about what the members of this board do elsewhere.

What is Ron, our daddy or our baby-sitter? He cannot control what I (or any of you) post on other boards. In fact, IMO a spammer who reads Ron's request will probably go spam twice as hard.

It seems to me that if someone runs a message board and a poster is spamming their board, they should ban that poster from their board.

If they are that worried about losing their "customers" to this board, maybe they should re-think their own policies and make their boards more like this one?

Ron telling posters not to spam Real GM when this board is probably mainly composed of posters who read spam from people from this site who spammed Real GM is hypocritical to the maximum. I came here when I read SPAM from "someone"(I wonder who?) on the Real GM board.

Ron managed to get Retro Dreams out of here after 1 or 2 posts.
Ron has been opening and closing threads lately.

I thought KC & truebluefan were moderating this board.

Sometimes less is more Ron.

Why don't you take it to him in PM? Offer suggestions?

I hear you, Sickey. I am probably going to stick to the Bulls board on this site from now on. I have some problems with some of the mods here who take themselves and their duties a bit too seriously (I am not talking about KC or TBF). It irritates me when someone issues a warning in a thread before anything even happens. I had 3 or 4 mods jump on me on the general nba board because I called people who I didn't think would understand my post "Boneheads". As soon as my post was up, some mod issued a warning. I responded that there hadn't even been any problems in the thread and he basically said that I was baiting people with my comments. Then of course 2 or 3 other mods came in and jumped all over me. Then the thread was locked before I could respond. Maybe I shouldn't have used the word "bonehead", but if you read the thread, the whole thing was ridiculous.

In defense of his asking us not to spam Realgm, there was a three way communication going on that warrented such a request. Some posters were going over there and asking people to come and see their trade ideas here. Then they trashed realgm in the process. They asked us to try and discourage such action.

Normally, I wouldn't allow this type of member bashing against anyone, but if you want to bad mouth me and my actions, you really should be a man/woman about it and PM me directly.

I'll leave this one up, because I would like to respond.

I hate spam. I get tons of it every day in my e-mail box, and it drives me up the wall.

For someone to spam other sites in the name of this site, which I own and operate, well...I cannot even begin to describe how upset that makes me.

So I made a general announcement, because I really don't know who is doing that. If I knew, I would discuss it with them freely (it is my understanding a number of people are doing this). What would you guys have me do? Say it is okay to spam other sites, when it is clearly unethical to do so?

I acknowledged my mistake in regard to RetroDreams publicly, and even e-mailed him an apology. He chose not to come back. Things do happen, and we all learn by our mistakes.

As far as moderating this board goes, my administrative permissions do allow me to edit, delete, move, etc. etc. etc. across the web site. And I will moderate if I do see something that falls clearly out of bounds of the Terms of Use and the Guidelines that are established on this site.

In any event, no one is forcing you guys to stay here. If you guys have a problem with the way I run this site, then you can exercise your right to move on. But if you guys want to continue discussing Bulls and basketball, then please do so.
