It is because they have two stars. You all say that Kobe would not win without Shaq but I just relized Shaq would not win a championship without Kobe(or some other star.) During the first two rounds Rasheed Wallace and Tim Duncan I believe posted better numbers than Shaq. you don't kno if Tim Duncan isn't better than Shaq because Tim duncan doesn't have a second option on his team.

Let's look at it theoretically:

Tim Duncan gets: 32 points 15 rebounds

Shaq gets: 28 points 8 rebounds

Kobe gets 26 points 5 rebounds

Lakers win, but you see what I am saying. Lakers have been blessed by Jerry West to have two stars.

I believe that if you take Kobe away from that team it is a 6th or 7th seed and does not win a championship. If you take Shaq away its in the lottery.

If Duncan signs with Orlando I can test my hypothesis.

you can't necasarrily say Shaq is the best in the league if Duncan posts better numbers than him(we are not talking about the Finals) but still loses because he has to carry the whole load and has no second option.

All we know is Shaq cannot be replacable with his dominance on the court but Kobe may be replacable with players like T-Mac, Carter and Iverson.

The key to the Lakers winning championships was defense and it's always been defense. Yes, that has alot to do with having two stars, namingly an all league defender on the perimeter, and a monster in the middle that clogs the paint. With the other pesty defense from derek fisher, Fox was a very good defender, George would hustle and work hard defensively, etc. The past two season, defensively LA could match it's opponents offense. It didn't matter that they had Shaq who could give you 25 & 10, or Kobe would could give you 25, 5, & 5.... they still lost because the defense wasn't tight.

****er!
lol. I told you, your star was falling and you are no longer top poster. Coach level, not at all. More like your posting level is that of Kareem Abdul Jabbar coaching level. Just not good enough to score the big one. You are of younger age then me. 2 years ago you were 23. HA you are true young guy, whose past his prime.

I on the other hand 2 years ago at 26 is a true veteran, whose been through the posting wars. You are still young yet. But in your case you may have no more potential left. Consider yourself Penny. Started out strong and fast but is nothing but a bench player now. True scrub here.

LMAO
