I finally came across one!

If he develops a consistent mid-range shot, he could be a very nice player. Post more vids if you can make them yourself or find others.

Looks solid. I don't know why Splitter's not getting more hype; maybe because he's gotten so much hype in the last two years when he flirted with entering the draft.

I hear there's buyout issues but other than that, this guy looks like a serious talent. He's got Pau Gasol-like physique and while he's not as offensively talented, he's as beastly defensively. He's wiry but strong, rebounds hard and passes extremely well in traffic.

If I had to make a list of big men in the draft, I'd say Splitter would probably be the 4th or 5th best guy on my wish list, right around Shelden Williams, after LaMarcus, Tyrus (who I'm not totally buying into) and MAYBE Noah. Bargnani might actually rank right around there too, but I sort of lean towards taking LaMarcus with the Knicks pick and Splitter with our own (should be there).

Yeah, I think it's the major concern with the buyout and the only adequate post scoring skills (at least by reputation). Splitter has got the size and the athleticism to be a quality NBA player. He might be a great pick with our late lottery/mid first rounder, but not if he can't come over and play for us next year.
I don't know about Splitter. From the video it seems like he gets easily banged around by bigger players in the paint, and this not even the NBA. He definately needs to bulk up and toughen up a little to play in the post.

My big man board (if you didn't catch it in the Draft Nerd thread)
Aldridge
Bargnani (I wouldn't be opposed to taking him #1 or not at all at this point--just haven't seen him in action hardly at all)
Noah
Splitter
Thomas

I'd group Noah, Splitter, and Thomas all together for the most part. Thomas is last simply due to size. Splitter might be a safer pick over Noah with both having the same upside assuming no buyout concerns. I feel much more confident of my Splitter evaluation than I do Bargnani, mainly because I have seen him in action a few times each of the past two years.

Give me one out of those five with the NY pick, and I'll be satisfied.
Looks like a high schooler. Needs to bulk up.
Who puts free throws on a highlight tape? I am little worried about Tiago's game if they need to fill time w/ free throws.

It looked like that was all from one game, and I'm never quite sure what to make of these 1-2 minute highlight clips, but I can't say I'm all that impressed. His offensive game doesn't look very polished and he was getting pushed around a little on defense. If we're going to have to deal with a potentially sticky buy-out situation I'd prefer more of a sure thing.

Because Splitter hitting two FTs in a row is a highlight. :D
Btw, this was against one of the weakest teams (with crappy and undersized bigs) in Euroleague this year.

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't recognize the other team, but I had no idea if they were decent or not.
Nothing on that video was nearly as impressive to me as the Bargini (before you tell me, i know i just butchered the spelling of that name . . .) clips that were posted in another thread.
One thing that I couldn't really get a good read on in the games I've seen him play is on his hands. After studying all of these vids I posted, he certainly seems to have soft hands. Could be someone to pair nicely with Chandler...

He seems like a more athletic version of Przy & I think he could step in and contribute moreso than signing Joel could already. Definately more polished on the offensive end.
Splitter could make some sense for the Bulls if he is left at 16 but I don't think he is really in the same hemisphere as Tyrus Thomas or Bargnani. My first prefernce with the 16 pick is Shelden Williams who I think will be a much better pro than people realize but he probably won't be left at 16.

As most people probably already know from reading the "Draft Nerd" thread, I do like Splitter better than I do Thomas assuming there are no buyout issues. I definately like Aldridge and Bargnani (from limited amounts of seeing him and scouting reports) better than Splitter.

Unless we are positive we can work the buyout out, we CAN'T pick Splitter with the NY pick. He's not worth the risk that high.

Shelden would make a lot of sense at #16 unless we draft Aldridge. I'd rather nab a Center or wing at 16 if we take Aldridge with the NY pick than having two low post scoring PFs (even though their style of play is completely different).

With the NY pick, my draft board:
Aldridge
Bargnani
**Splitter - if and only if we are 100% sure we can work out the buyout.
Thomas
Carney
Morrison - best talent available and we would look to move him in a draft day trade if we have the #5 pick and those 4 players are taken with the top 4 picks--extremely unlikely it would come down to this, but still a possibility.

With the Bulls pick if we go big:
Splitter
O'Bryant
Armstrong
Williams - I'm assuming we don't draft a C with the NY pick, else put him above O'Bryant & Armstrong
Simmons
Sene - never seen him play, but still a candidate I would think

With the Bulls pick if we go small
Carney
Brewer
Roy
Collins
Roby
Reddick

My PG ranking for the Bulls (potentially replacing Duhon in a talked about S&T)
Marcus Williams
Jordan Farmar
Randy Foye

Rhyder, just curious. Are you projecting Williams as a Center?

Also, I definitely think we can take the risk with Splitter, even if he can't come over for two years.

He's a higher quality than others ont he board. As for needing him next season - not really. Not if we draft a big with the NY pick and sign two bigs with our FA crap space. That would give us 4 good front court guys. Frankly, Splitter makes a ton of sense, much more so than Armstrong et al...

I think he will be able to play minutes at Center, but I don't see that as his long-term NBA position. That is of course unless he has some surprise measurements at the pre-draft workouts.

He'd be a nice guy to pair up with Bargnani, Thomas, or Splitter. As I said before, I think we pass on him if we end up with Aldridge unless it's just a "best talent available" sort of pick (i.e. all the guy Paxson liked are taken ahead of 16 and Williams is still available).
EDIT: Dupe post when the boards were going all wacky.
