Hey, look res! Billy and Marie's comes in at #83 . Although, Welser has them listed as the 336th ranked scoring defense last year nationally. But, they were top 10 in the CAA.

Yes, but 4th in the nation offensively. Shaver doesn't waste much time worrying about the defensive side of things. They're fun to watch, though I have not yet caught them live. I have told The Boy that I'm coming down for a game this year and that he can join me or not. The $2 PBRs at Paul's Deli are just as cold either way. I'm thinking of the CoC game in February so I can catch Sam Miller and report back to Jaffie, et. al.

FWIW. College Sports Madness has started the rollout of their top 144 men's bb teams for the upcoming season.I' ll update it once a week or sooner if an A-10 team is mentioned. They add a team daily. If any teams on the list are on your schedule, you can go to the link posted by Paulxu on page 1 of the thread to view the team's preview.

Weren't we more interested in his mom?
I’m thinking that the Mrs. Miller that you are thinking about is married to Archie.

You could probably post Sam up for an “and one”. He was pretty soft at UD ... not suggesting that you aren’t a good post player 55 ... just sayin

She's too intense for me. Hot two ways.

Rhody just popped up and barely beat out that powerhouse William & Mary squad. *sarcasm alert

Interesting.. didn't expect to see URI so soon. And since this list is a matter of national security I am greatly concerned that the Bonnies aren't going to be on it. Assuming Davidson, SLU, and SJU are his top 3 A10 members I wouldn't have had any of Bona, Dayton, or Mason ahead of URI. But I'm not getting paid big bucks to shape march madness on August 21st so I'll leave it up to Welser. Which one's the 8th?

Chill, bro! The Bonnies uniquely graduated seniors who heavily contributed, so that disqualifies them from contending in 2018-19.

Dayton had the sixth best RPI in the league and finished 9th last year, and most likely isn’t projected to be in the top 8 this year. So basically Welsner is saying that the Flyer’s aren’t going to improve on the worst performance in two decades. If this happens, Grant “should fire himself” (shout out to Flyer 75).

What are you guys talking about? There’s a “Bonnies on track for top 20” thread started over on the Bandwagon.

The general consensus seems to be that despite a weakening at the top of the league, the middle of the A10 will improve, which might explain why some are predicting that Dayton won't improve their ranking within the A10 vs last year, even if the team is improved.

In regards to the A10 as a whole, I agree with this consensus, but I think Dayton seems to be getting lost, and possibly underestimated, in many prognostications.

seems about right, have a good core, have some talent in freshman coming in, new coach in place, the question become how do the gel and can they play well from the start of the year

I think Bonnies are 9th. Davidson 1, SLU 2, SJU 3, Mason 4. Mason's the chic pick. I don't know. I like it. Hell, if the 20th best team in the country is 9th in the A10 we could set a record for bids by a conference.
The only team that I would feel confident predicting about in the top 4 is SLU.

Davidson and St. Joe’s get too much credit because of their coaches. Mason hasn’t proved anything in the A10. They return all players on a .500 team, but as a Flyer’s fan, I learned years ago that this easily turns in to a high seed in the NIT.

My top 4 is SLU plus any three of URI, VCU, Davidson, SJU or UD.

My wildcard is UMASS. I think this program still has some national cache and with McCall on the sidelines should be back at the top where the program belongs.

Unfortunately, I see the Bonnie’s struggling to replace Adams and Mobley, PLUS
Taqqee, Ayeni and Brockington. That’s a lot for any team not named Kentucky.
