Name your top 5 overpaid players in the NBA. Mine are:

1) Shawn Kemp
2) Zydrunas Ilgauskas
3) Juwan Howard
4) Vin Baker
5) Kevin Garnett

Now, the top 4 all seem OK, am I correct? Some of you may be thinking, "Why KG? Isn't he one of the top PF's in the game?"

He may be... BUT, the guy makes over 20 million a season and STILL hasn't gotten out of the 1st round!

Honorable mentions:

Marcus Camby
Alonzo Mourning
Karl Malone

Nah, I'm a big Penny Hardaway fan. While others think that he's overpaid (which he is somewhat), I still think he's going to come back healthy this upcoming season for the Suns. He's going to have a good season, I know it.

I've been a big fan of Penny ever since he was in Orlando. It's been really tough watching his game slip, but I still have confidence that he'll regain his skills and produce good numbers for the Suns.

KC - Great point. I totally forgot about Pippen. What does he make? Over 18 million?? I'm so happy to see him get swept by the Lakers AGAIN! It brought a big smile to my face. :D

If we're talking about Suns plaeyers PH, what about Googs? Now there's a guy that doesn't live up to his paycheck!

How the hell are K.G./Zo and Malone overpaid?!?!

K.G. - 2nd best all-around baller in the league,only to Duncan.

Zo - was worth EVERY penny before he got sick(NOT HIS FAULT)!

Malone - at 39 hes still good for 18pts 8reb 1blk!

The guys makes 20 million and he's done SQUAT for his team in the playoffs! Seriously, the T-Wolves should trade him for quality talent. He is really making a LOT of money for doing nothing.

I propose this trade (but don't insult me, because I'm not too good at making trades):

To Portland:

Garnett
Brandon

To Minnesota:

Woods
Davis
Wells
Stoudamire

Portland is so deep, they can afford losing some of it. The combo of Wallace and Garnett would be EXCITING to watch. The Wolves get some great players in return. Here's Minnesota's lineup:

PG: Stoudamire, Lopez
SG: Wells, Peeler
SF: Szcerbiak, Woods
PF: Davis, Jackson
C: Nesterovic, Jackson

Then maybe they can pickup another quality big man to help solidify thier frontcourt. Jerome James would be a good fit.

Thoughts?

I'm going to have to say...every player in the NBA. Getting paid millions of dollars a year to put a ball in a hoop, unbelievable. But, if I had to pick a player that was overpaid in comparison to the other players in the NBA, I too, would say Allan Houston. I don't think he's considered a top 10 SG, but he sure get's paid like one. He's a spot up shooter. Overpaid player of the future: Wally Sczerbiak. I think I read somewhere he wanted the max.

Ur right,ur NOT any good at propsing trades!

K.G./Brandon for Bonzi/Woods/Davis/Stoudamire?

K.G. is a SUPER-STAR in other words,THE REAL DEAL BABY!Portanld DOESNT even give up an ALL-STAR,and u think their gonna get K.G.?!The ONLY reason the T-Wolves dont go deep into the play-offs is cuz Wally is in his own world, and Brandon is a PUNK,bottom line!

While I do believe Allan Houston is overpaid, I don't think there are 10 two guards in the league, that are right now in this point in their careers, better than Allan Houston. He still is, after all a 20 point scorer with a 39% shooting touch from behind the arc.

However, seeing as that he was already 30 years old at the time of acquiring that ludicrious contract, I think it was a horrible move by the Knicks considering Houstons best years are already behind him.

Yes, there are. More than 10. Houston's not even the best 2 on his TEAM!!! Here's who I'd rank ahead of him in no particular order... and Paul Pierce is a 3.

Vince Carter
Tracy McGrady
Allen Iverson
Kobe Bryant
Ray Allen
Michael Finley
Eddie Jones
Latrell Sprewell
Jerry Stackhouse
Bonzi Wells
Cuttino Mobley

Well there's 11, and I know for sure I'm missing some. The last two are a bit of a stretch, but I'd still rather have them on my team than the one-dimentional Allan Houston. Wells and Mobley are both much younger.

Oh for sure. I'd also take Doug Christie over Houston.
I would never take Christie over Houston, as Houston makes defenders defend him, while Christie does nothing for a defender to have to even consider using up any energy on defense whatsoever.

Points are still needed to win and a team - at the least gets points from Houston while Christie wanders around trying to look like he is a first class defender. Ahem - NOT!

Houston makes defenders defend 17-foot jumpers all day long. What's so hard about that?

Houston is a shooter and nothing more. At least Christie is valuable on the defensive end.... Where it counts.

It's very subjective here, I personally like defense more than offense, besides Houston is only a good on the ball shooter. I like Christe on the Kings'D over Houston.
