Trade Idea with Bucks

The raptors could make a trade for a good young center imo.
Raptors Trade
Charlie V

Raptors Recieve
Andrew Bogut

salaries would match since both players are on rookie contract. I like charlie v, but this trade makes sense for the raps. Bogut is better than any center in the draft and better than anythin the raptors get in free agency. Charlie V could be replaced in this draft with
a rudy gay
b tyrus thomas
c rodny carney

Thoughts?

I couldn't see the bucks wanting to do that. Bogut's showed hes going to be a solid centre. Its likely they wont be able to keep magloire, He'll want to much. So I cant see the bucks trading bogut instead of magloire.
over my dead body, unless we get TJ Ford with it and we don't lose a first round pick.
i no its hard to conceive rigth now...but like someone said....Villanueva could be easily replaced...i would hate to part with him....but if we got a good pick..and could get Gay in the draft or even Morrison...i would trade Charlie in a second for Bogut....our need for a good C could be filled rigth away...and we would be contending much sooner then anticipated...

Its a fair trade that fills a need for the raps imo, and it fills a need.

Another possibility would be Magloire and Ford for charlie V.

Im looking at it like this
Right now the bucks are starting 2 centers
Raps need a center.
Raptors have the piece to make a deal happen.
The only problem with that idea is that I now love Charlie ... but i don't have the same feelings for Andrew.

Milwaukee is much, much more likely to trade one of their extra centres (Mags and Gadz) than Bogut. They have no incentive to trade him.
I would do the trade from the Raptor's perspective, but as others have said, I doubt the Bucks would agree to it.
I don't see the Bucks giving up Bogut. They will most likely part ways with Magloire when his contract expires, and by then they are expecting Bogut to really step up to another level.
uh no thanks. charlie has more potential.
The Bucks could have chosen Charlie or Marvin Williams last draft over Bogut if they wanted, so I don't see why they would do the trade, especially considering that Magloire will most likely be gone next year

the draft is loaded with top end SF prospects, but for me it would take Tyrus Thomas for me to part with Charlie. I'm not sold on Carney, Morrison or Gay being any better than Charlie, it's not to say it can't happen, but after a guy scores 48 as a rookie, you tend to guard a player like that with your life.

trade could be more temping for Millwaukee if it was expanded to say...

Simmons/Ford/1st rounder
for
Charlie/Eric Williams

Screw Magloire, let's get Gadzuric.
That would be a horrible idea. He's got at least another five years left on his contract.

5 very reasonable years. Remember that least year, this guy averaged over 8 boards in 22 mpg, and I think he put up a block and a half in those minutes. He runs the floor well, rebounds, does the dirty work and doesn't demand the ball a lot on offense.
He looks terrible this year because he's only getting around 11 mpg with Bogut and Mags in the picture. His contract isn't really all that unreasonable for a backup PF/C. If you want unreasonable, wait for Mags to become a free agent in 2007.

Charlie has far surpassed the expatations people had for him. He is a future star now. He wasnt regarded as a star player when he was drafted.

Bogut has pretty much lived up to expectations, and is a solid center.

Charlies stock has risen dramatically since the draft and you know it.
I realize the bucks dont want to get rid of Bogut.
The Bucks "incentive" to do this would be to aquire charlie V who is showing he can be an all star type player.
The raps finally get a legitimate 5.

Bogut may turn into an all-star type player as well. He plays a harder position to learn (although Charlie's transition to the 3 has been awe inspiring) and it may take him a while to get to the same level as Charlie, but you don't give up on a #1 pick after one year.
The Bucks won't give up Bogut. The Raptors should go after Dan Gadzuric on the Bucks. He can probably be had in the summer.

They should NOT give up Villanueva for him (or Bogut for that matter). They COULD give up Graham and Sow and something else, though. I don't think Milwaukee would do that deal, though.

I think both teams like that deal
Magliore on the Raptors will fill seats in the ACC .... and he will want to get paid in anticipation of that occurring. If Magliore is given big bucks to play for the Raptors in his home town, he will have to produce with max effort .... or else he would find it mighty uncomfortable living in Toronto.

Magliore will advance Raptor rebuilding to less than 4 years .. and that just might convince Bosh to stay ..... instead of going to a team that will contend with him added within 2 years.

Mike James would also be a valuable asset for the next 3 - 4 years.

Bosh will not stay in Toronto because he says he "loves" the city .... BC will have to sell him on team rebuild with MLSE willing to spend the bucks to get the players .... otherwise bye bye Bosh ... believe it .... the NBA is a business ... not a love-in for the tribal honking fans.
