TRAIL BLAZER FANS UNITE - take a stand against PAM and Global Spectrum

Bring signs to Trail Blazer games that say "Trade PAM" etc. (PAM = Portland Arena Management)

DONT buy tix or sit in the black seats (the seats Global sells).

DONT buy food/pop/beer at Trail Blazer games and other events at the RG.

DONT park in the garages affiliated with the Rose Garden... its too expensive anyway.

;)

Any other ideas?

FUnny how boycotting Blazers games would actully be showing support for the team
Umm..aren't the garages owned / managed by the city and wouldn't boycotting them contribute to a loss of revenue for other events at PGE Park?

Good point. I believe the Garden Garage brings in some $$$ to Global/PAM/the bond holders (along with the city), and the city gets all the revenue from the garages across the street (the 2 that are not attached to the Rose Garden). I could be wrong.

No ideas. But a question:

Why?

I thought you meant Pam Donegan, the team concierge. I blame her for ALL the Blazers problems.
How about we go the complete opposite direction and boycott Paul Allen?

ONLY buy tickets in the black seats. When you go to a Blazers game make sure you buy lots of food, drink, etc. but none of the merchandise that would go to the Blazers. Go to non-blazer events in droves.

Maybe it'll inspire Paul Allen to sell the team cheap to an owner that actually gives a damn about Portland.

hehe, I haven't bought pop at the games in about 2 years and the last game I went to the Dr Pepper I brought in FINALLY got swiped..

I do have seats to the 200 level seats for the warriors game and unless things improve by then, I'll probably bring a sign that says something.

Read the local papers. It sounds like Paul is trying to sell, but the Rose Garden bond holders arent cooperating, making the selling of the team impossible.

I disagree with that. I believe the bond holders when they say they were never offered anything concrete. I don't think anyone ever came to them and gave them a firm proposal saying that they'd be willing to pay X million dollars for the Rose Garden. And as such I do not believe they deserve to be boycotted.

Paul Allen, on the other hand, definately deserves a boycott. I think that Paul Allen ruined the situation all by himself. Because of that I feel that we would all be better off if Paul Allen simply sold the team to someone else super cheap because of how badly he's screwed up the situation.

For starters it would save him 30 million dollars a year. It would give him the ability to maybe go out and buy another NBA team. Most of all it means he doesn't have to come to Portland any more. It seems pretty obvious that he hates this town almost as much as it hates him. So it's a good deal for Paul Allen.

The Bond holders might be willing to work with a new owner. Or even give a new owner a shot at buying the Rose Garden for market value. It seems obvious to me that they're not willing to do anything that may in any way help Paul Allen.

PAM and Global spectrum are not responsible for this situation...can't blame them for stalling a bit to hold out for a better price. If we you want to boycott something, boycott any of Paul Allen's companies...

And always remember the less $$ GS and PAM makes on Blazers games, they less likely they are to be all that concerned about the Blazers leaving.

anyway just my take..

I believe becuse of his avatar.
On my honor I will not step foot inside the Rose Garden again this year. Living in Houston that's an easier thing than it might be if I ws in Portland, but still wonderful of me
By not buying tickets (although only in certain section(s)), couldn't it be interpreted as we don't want the team around? Without nearly everyone knowing the plan, it will fail. It's a good idea, but could have some bad consequences. If we fail to support at this point, we could make it even more likely that we don't have a team next year. The signs are a good idea, but the others may have mixed results.
Unless it was publicly known why we are doing it then it won't carry much weight. PAM won't know if there are less sales because of us. Of course I doubt this board would make enough of a difference anyway. I like the sign idea.
Why boycott honest businessmen to support a lying piece of diddly who blames others for his idiotic mistakes?
