It's not a bad thing. I'm an alum of a PL school. I was all for it when it first formed and still am. The problem is that those types of schools are finding it harder and harder to compete in D1 basketball and FCS football. It's getting to the point where it makes no sense any longer. Might as well go D3.

I looked around the college landscape to see what was happening.....Hason Ward is a nice guy. Enjoyable to watch BUT if he is not getting an oop or follow up slam it is sketchy. I wish him well but Osun is gonna get the big minutes and Ward will get maybe 10 minutes per but I think less. Also, I think his departure from VCU had layers. I do hope he is successful because he is a good guy. Heck, I hope they all are and VCU does not lose any players next season to the portal. Oh, Funk from St Joe's was draining logo 3s for Utah State. Hate seeing Holmes, Lofton, Osun, Ward, Jones, Brown-Jones, etc, etc in other conferences. I guess that is life these days though. VCU has been mining the portal as well and will do it in the future so all is fair in love and war.

Can any “journalists” ask these transferring students if, after switching schools (in some cases a third time), they are still on track to graduate by the time their eligibility is exhausted?

Some of them have been playing for 6 years so you would think they would have several degrees.

Hope Josh gets a spot on a team where he gets lots of minutes. He deserves it. He was always ready when needed. I was at the UR game in the Robins Center when Ace fouled out and Josh brought the win home.
Agreed. I don't know why he didn't have more shot attempts in his minutes. It's not like anyone else on the team worried about missing 3s.

But he was a good teammate and I hope he gets a lot of playing time wherever he goes.

Little-used Hawk big man Anton Jansson enters the portal. Lange signed him during his first year at SJU and he enrolled for the Spring 2020 semester. Apparently an outstanding student who will graduate this spring with a double major. Not sure if he will get much playing time at a lower-level program but, hey, he could get a free master's degree from someone.
