Way to bring it, Kneepad!

I'm proud to have been on the same side of the argument as you've been in defending the triangle. I have to admit, however, that I don't appear to have researched it nearly as thoroughly as you have. I suggest you keep those links handy so that every other day when someone attempts to argue that "the triangle stifles creativity" or "the triangle limits (player X)'s game" or "the triangle slows our team down, we need to run and take advantage of our team speed" you can assign them some reading along with your rebuttal.

Thanks for the links. ;-)

You're welcome, Wynn.

My favorite anti-Triangle argument is that it stifles up-tempo play. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, Tex Winter's book continually emphasizes the importance of the transition game and full-court play.

Awesome links! Thank you very much. I used to browse the ESPN board but not anymore. This board is the best.

Basketball offense can be viewed as 2 phases, Transition and Half court.

NJ has shown the importance of the Transition game and for this, you need a PG that can get the ball up court and players that can fill the lane. JWill can definitely be the decision maker with the ball in this capacity.

I think looking at the Bulls though, they are not going to have much of a transition game. Transition usually starts with good defense, and the Bulls are a long way off from good defense. I also don't think Rose and Hassel compliment Jwill on the break very well either.

This means that Jwill's effectiveness as a PG will be more limited, because the Bulls will probably not run as much and try to run their half court set, the triangle - which is a philosphy of cuts, passing, and spacing rather than a set, more.

jalen and hassel probably dont compliment jwil IYO, but all three definately compliment tyson and eddy, they are all good passers who can dish it to the two bigs on the break
