I used to use a bookie back in the day to bet on sports. I quit years ago. Only gambling I do these days is some poker from time to time. I go in with a set amount that I am OK with losing and play from there. The rise of easy online gambling has created a mess that is only going to get worse. I have nothing against gambling, but at the end of the day you're putting money on the outcome of a ballgame played by 20yo kids. If you can't handle losing, don't bet.
Here’s more detail on what Grant was talking about. It highlights much of what you posted. The rise of easy online gambling has created a mess that is only going to get worse. Yep. It’s seriously entering the danger zone. Some type of firm regulation(s) has to happen. It's a shame Anthony Grant had say what he did in his press conference, but I'm glad he did. Between the P5 cabal, a feckless NCAA, a change in the transfer rule, NIL, and legalized gambling with losing bettors abusing players and coaches, my interest in college revenue sporting events is waning.
I didn’t say we would/could… but firm regulations can and must be implemented.I don't think you're putting the genie back in the bottle.
