I think T.C. is gonna average more than that.

In fact, call me the eternal optimist, but I believe that Chandler is going to be one of the top 5 players in the league within 3 years.

When you look at his improvement over the 2nd half of this past season, ESPECIALLY on defense, I don't see any reason why he can't continue on with that and end up with about 15 ppg in the next campaign.

But that depends on Tyson. Impressionable youth often show displacement of priorities. And that gets compounded with every dollar they receive for their contracts.

The bottom line is that time is money. And what I want to know is if Tyson is spending his "time" wisely.

I simply loved the way that Tyson changed his inside defensive game for the better in such a short time.

In the first couple of months, he would jump out of the building on even the slightest ball fake...and then get burned or start racking up the fouls.

He started to correct that in the 2nd half of the season. A GOOD sign.

Another thing he was doing on defense...or NOT doing on defense depending on the scenario...was rolling out to the shooter on the wing.

Oftentimes, he wouldn't realize if he had help behind him or not. And as soon as the ball was rotated out on the wing, he would instinctively jump out to cover....exposing the low post...and it would be a dunk every single time.

In other words, he didn't know when to stay put if there was no weakside help.

That changed as well as the season progressed, as he started to learn where his teamates were on the floor.

And on the other side of the coin, HIS help-defense improved as well as the season went on.

I gotta believe that Bill Cartwright was a HUGE reason for this as soon as he was named Head Coach.

At the very least, I think we can look forward to seeing this young guy just pick up his entire game and continue to improve before our very eyes.
