Anyone going to the game? I am! I put in the ticket request the morning it was announced, and got an email that evening that it had been approved. Says ticket will be emailed at a later date, but haven't received it yet.

I did this for the men's game after the fact, but I was able to get ahead of it for the women's game.

I know the women's tourney only expanded to 68 this year, but using the men's timeline: there have been 47 2/15 games since the start of the 2011 tournament.

The median scoring margin is the #2 seed by 29 points. The 2023 games have been decided by 52, 32, and 25 points.

Surprisingly, because they had a 16-over-1 long before the men did, NO 15 has ever beaten a 2. Additionally, no 14 has ever beaten a 3.

This is what we're up against. Shock the world, ladies!

Man. You don't realize how on-another-level the superprograms like UConn or South Carolina are until you watch a game like this (not even just boxscores).
Any other team playing those two programs has to have virtually everything go right for them and wrong for UConn or SC to have even a small chance of winning. Even most of the other power conference teams that play them. Just an incredible difference in all aspects.

I didn't expect much, but it was really great to at least say the women got back there. Kresge got her extension, and I hope the school continues to provide backing for her to keep this going. The gap is very bad, and that's a symptom of a lot of different things, but credit to a program like Florida Gulf Coast upset Washington State (from the country's best women's basketball conference) today...also, that program has been absolutely rolling for years. Broadly I'm hopeful that UMass and URI can keep their coaches and get better, get the A10 to multi-bid territory again, do some damage, and then maybe that trickles down a little further so the gap closes. Not going to happen overnight, but when schools invest in these things, good things can happen!

Also, of note...Sadie Stetson, the former two-time Ms. Basketball from St. J is in the portal. I believe she graduated from American U, and has 2 years left. She had some injuries her whole career there, but she was healthy for the most part this year and had a small role...UVM only has one signee for next year and I think have 3 spots (though I suspect Celeya may not come back?). If she's interested and can play a role, a homecoming would be cool.

Yes, 8 or more, because UConn's last bench players were high school all-americans, and teams in the America East do not and cannot recruit high school all-Americans. Happy to have travelled to UConn today to show respect for this great team and coaching staff, and so happy to see the turnout of UVM fans - this team deserved it.

UVM has two committed for next year. Besides Lexi Kerstein from a burb in Chicago, committed on 11/11/2022 is Malia Lenz a 5'11 physical 2 guard from Chilliwack BC, Canada. She played for Phoenix College Prep Academy and AZ Select AAU. So if the Hoosiers remain for their 5th year and all the Euros return, we are full up for next season.

Is there a feeling Utterback and Rachison actually are coming back? They did the whole senior day thing. That doesn't mean they can't do it twice so I guess we'll see.

Emma actually received her 4 year degree last year as a junior and enrolled in a 2 year graduate program last summer, There appears to be a trend to walk the kids out in the class they came into, in this case Class of 2023. Will she and Del stay, I sure hope so. Another 20 plus win season NCAA Bid with a much better seed, Worked for CP3 and MayK in the 10 class. Time will Tell.

Based on Utterback’s quote in the BFP today, to the effect that WE will go back to the drawing board and WE will work hard and learn from this game, I’d sat there is a chance she is returning. Could be reading more into it than is there. She may be referencing WE as the returning team without her.

According to a response I got on a FB post, they will be back. I posted "hopefully they take advantage of their extra year of eligibility "....got a response saying that Emma and Delaney will be back. It was from someone with last name Richason (Delaneys mom?). Also saw a local newspaper article about Carly Whiteside (i live on Cape Cod, where she is from) and she may come back, too. (Cape Cod Times)
