Ha! I knew he was going to be traded. When I saw it was the Clippers it was crowded. Then things began happening. The Clippers unloaded John Wall, Reggie Jackson and Luke Kennard. They brought in Eric Gordon as a 2 guard. Things got interesting real quick for Bones. When the draft happened pretty much everyone expected him to go to the LA Clippers but the Nuggets beat them to the punch. Now the Clippers and Tyrone Lue have him. Things got weird the last two weeks with the Nuggets. The narrative was that Bones was unhappy with his role but I don't buy it. Yeah, maybe he was unhappy with being yanked by Malone but their second unit was terrible. It will be their achilles heel moving forward in my opinion. They literally benched him and unloaded him. Glad Bones got a fresh start.

Expected to be in attendance Saturday are former VCU standouts Eric Maynor, Mo Alie-Cox, Briante Weber and Vince Williams...and of course, Ace & AlienAiden.

I am just hoping he does not bring Rose. That guy would steal my bourbon. I might have to take Ace to the Gwar Bar after the game.
I like how this article ignores the team tied for second. “VCU’s schedule down the stretch normally would be considered favorable. The Rams play at Rhode Island (8-16, 4-8) on Wednesday, followed by a home date with Fordham.” Podcasts talking about the big 3 and saying Duquesne trying to join them. VCU is a brutal place to play and win but Fordham has the personnel to do it, Mr. Baldwin meet Mr. Rose and company.

You understand why don't you? Media and broadcasters have a narrative they follow. The "Big 3" was picked to the preseason top 3. Fordham descriptions will be stuff like... surprise team or over achieving or whatever. I notice some angst on your part. Do you pin up articles in your office to get your chip on your shoulder fired up every morning? Pretty sure VCU knows they will be in for a tough game on Saturday.

Just kidding around; I'm happy to see Fordham doing so well. And sadly, VCU is no longer a tough place to play. If we shoot like we did last night, Fordham leaves with an easy W.
Since scoring 37 at SLU, Ace is now 6-31 and 0-10 from deep.

VCU is 11-for-74 3PT over its past five games. Yet still managed to win three of them (and could’ve won all five). Turnovers + free throws, the great equalizer. VCU has also been subpar from the free throw line. Last night they shot 7% from 3.

Free throws alone could have turned losses to SBU and Dayton (both at home) into wins. And they almost cost us last night. I'm thrilled we left with the W, no road win is easy. But the turnovers and free throws are just hard to watch. Especially because they were points of emphasis in the offseason.

I was really hoping to make this one. There's a chance I can still do it, but not looking good. I've even got Green Man (tuba player from the Final Four era pep band) coming into town.
2:30 on a Saturday, that place is going to be rocking.
Interested to see how we hold up in that environment. Need to weather the first 5 minutes settle in and then start our process of throwing a never ending parade of dicks at vcu to make their life miserable and hopefully wear you down by the second half. Game likely comes down to one stat: turnovers.
I mean… if we are going by the actual rule book, they kind of do.
