Arizona looked absolutely pathetic. I will say I hope UVM wins because UVM plays great and not because Marquette decides to lay an egg.

Im most curious about IAF’s impact. He should be the longest/most athletic player on the floor. I’m hoping for a few vicious blocks from him.

The keys to winning today are the same obvious things for winning every game. Defend, rebound-limit second chance opps, ball security and going to need make shots.

My one comment is this: now is the time to seize this opportunity. Most favorable match-up in last 4 trips. We competed brilliantly against Purdue, FSU, Arkansas but their size & talent just wore us down by the end of the game. Watching FSU just dump ball in the paint to their 2 7fters and bully ball us in Hartford down the stretch was painful.

Marquette does not have the same NBA talent or NBA-adjacent talent on its roster that those 3 teams had; full-stop. Not even close, actually. (Of course, neither do we). They also only have a couple seniors on the roster and no grad transfers.

Biggie Swanigan (RIP), Carsen Edwards, V Edwards, Mathias, Terance Mann, Devin Vassell, Kabengele, Jaylin Williams, Notae, Umude.

Our OOC schedule has prepared us for this. We've seen it. Today is our day. Just. Win.

Counterpoint: I hope Marquette lays the biggest, fattest, stinkiest egg out there. I'll win this game 5-2, I don't care. A lot of good things grow in manure. If Hakim Warrick doesn't turn the ball over 10 times, there's a lot of conversations we're not having over the last 18 years.

Marquette is 100% a great college basketball team this year and no question superior to UVM. They could very well be an Elite Eight team.

But, they do not have the individual talent/size that has caused UVM serious problems in recent tournament appearances.

Marquette may not be a talented as some of those teams we lost to before but this Vermont team isn't as talented either. I think we keep it respectable and keep it within the 11 points. If we are hitting from 3 and they don't kill us on the glass we have a chance.
