What did we do to you to make you consistently root against us every game?
He is obviously rooting for anyone in range or above SLU to lose and he needs to let us know. The only outlier I found was when he was rooting for Dayton. Now SLU plays Dayton on Friday night and that rooting allegiance might have been a poor choice. Ha!What did we do to you to make you consistently root against us every game?
Yeah. College ball players can give you heartburn. The Bona guards are good but sometimes they go off script. Luc (I think that is how you spell it) tends to dribble too much and he is a small guard. IMO having the ball in Yann's hands would be cool. But what do I know? You nailed the Bona diagnosis. Losses seem to directly correlate with freelancing guard play. The iso ball kills us.
The officiating was odd to say the least. A Tech 3 minutes into a game is just over sensitive. Unless the kid said something egregious or used some magic words, tell him to knock it off and move on. The call against Venning near the end is indefensible. The lead official was not in any position to make that call and he clearly guessed (and guessed wrong). I am sure he will be getting a call from his assignor today about it. There were a few other calls like that. The one on Banks comes to mind but it turns out he actually did push the guy. You just dont see referees venturing out of their primary all that often and I see it more and more lately. I see leads calling across the lane when they should be letting the C get it or at least let the C decide on it. I was too focused on our shitty defense to notice too much about the officials but I definitely noticed those odd circumstances. How do you feel about some of these calls from this crew, ‘03? Multiple odd calls from the guy across the court while the play develops in front of his partner.
EYOAOnly the Explorers got the job done for me yesterday.
A simple stat about the Bonnies. We are 0-8 when our opponent scores more than 70+ points. You nailed the Bona diagnosis. Losses seem to directly correlate with freelancing guard play. The iso ball kills us.
Your post highlights an issue not discussed: how our team matches up with another skews our view. For Fordham, SLU is a team we match up well with. Dayton with its size and length is a nightmare. I am interested to see how we fare at VCU mixed bag on that matchup. The iso tendencies came back last night and it killed us. Offensive possessions winding down the shot clock and a bullshit 1-on-1 play when you can't rebound. Careless with the ball. They need to unlearn the crap that came back last night at just the worst times.
Overall, I do think SLU is the team to beat if I had to handicap the A10 tournament, but they aren't clear-cut head and shoulders above. And it's hard to exclude anyone from potentially winning - it could be crazy. Especially with the added rest day playing early and needing 4 or 5 wins isn't necessarily a hindrance.
You nailed it A.A. I have nothing against the Bonnies or anyone else, but I am rooting against whatever team has less A-10 losses, since they are a threat to knock us out of the top four. The Billikens are reaching the toughest part of their conference schedule, with 2 games against the Flyers and a road game against your Rams of Richmond. This starts with tomorrow night’s battle for the Arch Baron Cup. As you guys know, the Billikens are playing very shaky bball right now, and I’m very concerned they will drop out of the top four.He is obviously rooting for anyone in range or above SLU to lose and he needs to let us know. As much as the total lack of defense at times in the Jay era was maddening, it sure was nice having that firepower. The idea that a Bonnies team could win a game by simply outscoring an opponent seems like a pipe dream over the last 5 seasons.A simple stat about the Bonnies. If we play a team with a decent to strong offense and we don't play lockdown defense, we probably aren't going to win.
What about the Flagrant 1 foul that wasn't called on Venning when he swung his elbows wildly and clocked Brickus in the mouth? Brickus was bleeding no less and the refs had the balls to call that a foul on Brickus even after the review and they saw Brickus bleeding. That was a bullshit call and it should have been reversed, Brickus didn't touch him.The officiating was odd to say the least. A Tech 3 minutes into a game is just over sensitive. My bet is these officials are under a lot of pressure (from above or just from themselves) and that is never a good thing. I can speak from experience that when you put extra pressure on yourself, you make strange calls and forget your fundamentals.

Apparently so.He hit him with his mouth?
