What Happened to the Defense?

I'm not worried about losing a few games between now and the end of the season. No big deal.

What concerns me more is this.

Hawks - 94
Bobcats - 102
Cavaliers - 108
Bucks - 83
Bulls - 104

That's 98.2 PPG over the last five. Not good.

You can't just say, "We can get stops. Look what we did to Detroit and Phoenix." It doesn't work like that. It's not a light switch.

Even if the Nets lose every game from here on out, the number one most important thing is that they reverse this trend and begin playing playoff defense before the playoffs start.

Defense is the only weapon the Nets have to get to where they want to go. If it isn't available, there are going to be a lot of disappointed people around here.

The hawks scored most of their points in the 4th quarter when the reserves were in

forgot about the bobcats game

Lebron was on fire and cant be stopped

83 points isnt bad defence

Bulls scored most points when the nets kept fouling

Those are just excuses. Its not like the reserves didn't play in 4th qs during the winning streak (when the opponents averaged 83 ppg) or that Nets didn't face any explosive players (kobe, wade, nowitzki) before. Ghoti is right. They need to go back to their defense. They can't just turn it on during the playoffs
This concerns me the most. I'm afraid the players will turn this into a bad habit in the playoffs. If they keep playing like this 50 wins could be doubtful

48 first half points. Nothing to do with end game fouling.

The Bulls game was a bit deceptive.

I think their defense overall was fine. But what makes the numbers deceptive is how the Nets turned the ball over on offense often giving the Bulls additional chances. From what I recall both teams FG% were very low. What also didn't help were the calls the Bulls were getting in the 1st half.

the nets should get use to playing against the teams and refs because the heat will get majority of the calls with shaq and wade love to pound the ball inside.
when you score, don't matter about the defense

The Nets can't win that way in the playoffs.

The refs really took it to the Nets again last night. And the Bulls were grabbing and pulling all night. I wish they would stop betting on the games. ;)

Yeah..I don't worry too much about the last games..but they need at least to turn their defense ON..so they can get it up to the PLAYOFFS..

from the way the defense looked tonight against Philly, it was like lighting a match under water
