Those are just excuses. Its not like the reserves didn't play in 4th qs during the winning streak (when the opponents averaged 83 ppg) or that Nets didn't face any explosive players (kobe, wade, nowitzki) before. I think their defense overall was fine. But what makes the numbers deceptive is how the Nets turned the ball over on offense often giving the Bulls additional chances. From what I recall both teams FG% were very low. What also didn't help were the calls the Bulls were getting in the 1st half.

Hawks - 94
Bobcats - 102
Cavaliers - 108
Bucks - 83
Bulls - 104
That's 98.2 PPG over the last five. Not good.
You can't just say, "We can get stops. Look what we did to Detroit and Phoenix." It doesn't work like that. It's not a light switch.
Even if the Nets lose every game from here on out, the number one most important thing is that they reverse this trend and begin playing playoff defense before the playoffs start.
Defense is the only weapon the Nets have to get to where they want to go. If it isn't available, there are going to be a lot of disappointed people around here.
