He's asking by a team, not by a player, unless he didn't ask the question right. The record for makes and takes in a game and season is by a Mavs team with George McCloud on it, though I forget the exact numbers -- something like 21-43 or so. (EDIT: After some quick checking here, I found that they took 49 against the Nets in March of '96, including a single player record 20 attempts by McCloud. They made 18 that game, but I thought the record for makes was higher. I'll keep checking).

As for the record by a player being 8, that has been surpassed many, many times. Kobe does have the record though with 12 against the Sonics last season.

MJG answered the 'any season prior' part, it was the Mavs in '96.

As for this season, I think it's the Sonics. We jacked up 41 against Boston earlier this season.

edit: Are you asking for most 3's made or attempted ?

The record for consecutive 3's is 13, a couple guys have done it, Terry Mills was the last to.

IS it really as high as 13? I'm pretty sure the record was 8 til Kobe got 9.

I think the team record is about 23 in a game. I saw Boston get 18 i the playoffs 2 years ago, it was incredible.

I know it's 13, but T-Mills did it over the course of 3 games, 8 or 9 could be the single game record.

In case some of you are too lazy to click the link above, the records are:

Most 3 pointers made: Kobe Bean Bryant (just love that middle name) with 12.

Most consecutive 3 pointers made: Latrell Sprewell with 9.

Lowest three-point field-goal percentage, season
.104-Los Angeles, 1982-83 (10/96)

Fewest three-point field goals per game, season
0.12 - Los Angeles, 1982-83 (10/82)

What a year for LA 3-pters. Are they all buzzer attempts? 328 ends of quarters in a year.

10 makes all season. That's crazy.

Does anyone know about playoff games stats?

I know Antoine Walker hit 9 in a row in a playoff game against Philadelphia back in the 2001-2002 season.
