Here is mine.

1. Shaq
2. Duncan
3. Garnett
4. Kobe
5. Kidd
6. Novitzki
7. TMAC

there is no AI on here is because you need a player that can do more than score 35 points a game(even though he takes 40 shots a game).

You need a good all around player that has some DOMINANT areas.

I know im am going to get critisism for my AI comment.

I'll take an aging Shaq anyday, because for the next 3 years, whenever he's on the court he'll be in contention for a ring. My second choice would be Duncan, cause he'll be the most dominant big guy once Shaq leaves.

If I wanted to win right now, the player I would take right now would be Shaq.

If I wanted to prepare for now as well as the future, I might try to build around either Kobe or TMac, since both improve with play as the game goes on. Most likely I'd have to go with Kobe, cause you know with him when the game's on the line he wants to take that shot, and he wants to make that shot..

As much as I hate him, I'm going to have to start admitting he's the second best player in the L. I like Duncan, but I'm not going to give him props for doing what he does, when people rip KG for having a worst supporting cast and having bad closes to some games. When in actuallity, Duncan is one of the worst when the games on the line, he freezes, makes awful decisions and doesn't want to shoot the ball.

Is the object to get to the playoffs or actually win a championship ? If it's the latter, you gotta go with Shaq. Didn't Kidd's team get swept out of finals recently ?

Yea and if Hakeem was in his prime, the old rockets would have swept the Lakers.

Nobody in the league now can stop Shaq right now.

The same goes for Dream, Jordan, Wilt, and others in their prime.

So if a team gets swept by the most dominate team now with the most dominate player are they that bad?

Or are the Lakers that good?

That's not factual. So no point in using that in your argument. While Dream's Rockets did sweep Shaq's Magic, we're not talking about Shaq's Lakers, are we ? Besides that has nothing to do with the thread title. It's not about who you'd pick Dream in his prime or Shaq in his prime. That would be seperate discussion in itself.

Vince Carter....not just because he is a great player but because he does so many dunks that makes the team marketable.

I have been a ball fan since I was 10 (I'm 18 now)....but I know pretty much everyone around me didn't know basketball for crap but when Carter came to the Raptors they became big fans.

I dont care how old he is, you should still take Shaq at this point. Most dominant player in the game by far.

I'd take Shaq, Duncan, Tmac, Kobe, Garnett, Nowitski .. in that order at this point.

Kidd should not be taken to start a franchise. J Kidd needs good players around him. Without really good players around him, Kidd is nothing.

Shaq undoubtedly
Followed by Kobe (that's why the lakers win)
Then I'd take Duncan and/or Kidd depending upon the other players.
GARNETT HAS done well on his own so hed be close.

J-K has taken one of the worst teams in the league and made it better.
