1. NBA executive = Congress vote for President
2. Reporters = vote for American only (e.g. NBA awards last season)
3. Coaches = it is all politics
4. fans = love factor

other?

The fans, because thats what the All-Star game is about. The professionals vote the MVP, all-NBA, DPOY, ROY, etc.

fan voting = popularity + love + no knowledge

Media = Politics + intentional misleading + love

Fans vote all.

Don't let Media vote anything. It is all politics!

If the fans voted for all of them it would ruin the NBA. To get votes from the fans u have to be flashy and playes would try to play like that. Players would work there whole life and get to all-star level and not make it cuz fans are stupid and dont know who deserves to be there.

No one "deserves" to be there. The All-Star game isn't for the players.

If players want to try and "earn" something, they have three All-NBA teams, two All-Defensive teams, an MVP award, a Defensive Player of the Year award, a Most Improved Player award and the Hall of Fame to shoot for.

Oh, right, and fourteen All-Star spots per year selected by coaches.

If you can't get any of those your whole career, maybe you just weren't a star.

I'm pretty certain Sam Cassell will be selected an All-Star reserve, he'll have that on his resumé and all will be right with the world. And if Cassell isn't selected as a reserve, what's the use of railing at fans...even coaches didn't select the "deserving" player.

The all-star game didnt use to be about the fans. They use to have very tight hard fougth game where they might only play 8 players. To get to the Hall of Fame one thing they look at is All-star apperances. They were talking about all spots being voted by the fans not just starters. If all were voted by the fas I feel that way not right now.

Times change. They also didn't use to have a dunk contest, a three-point shoot-out, a rookie or rookie/soph game and all of the rest.

It didn't use to be a two-day fan-centric event.

But that's what it is now.

Then again, basketball didn't use to be fan-tastic. It was rarely shown on TV and even the Finals were shown on tape delay late at night. A lot of things have changed to make the game such a popular entertainment.
