If you have a look at Robert Parish post-Celtics, he continued playing in the NBA as a member of the Charlotte Hornets and the Chicago Bulls, and it was with Chicago that Parish capped off his NBA career with another NBA Championship ring, albeit as a bench warmer reserve to Luc Longley/Bill Wennington and even the eccentric Brian Williams (aka Bison Dele).

If Parish can continue his NBA playing career after leaving the Celtics, then why couldn't Kevin McHale have done the same thing. It's alright if Larry Bird spends his NBA career with one team like Boston, but McHale was just a complementary star at best, as he alternated between starting PF and Sixth Man whenever he played and was in his prime.

With Bird in retirement due to chronic back injuries and Parish playing for other teams, which NBA team outside of Boston do you think McHale would've played for in 1993-94 if he didn't retire due to leg injuries and opted to tough out another NBA season?

I meant, if McHale didn't get plagued with injuries, where else would he have played, considering that he was a free agent after 1992-93 was finished?

If he continued playing past 1993 for at least one more season, which team other than Boston would accept Kevin McHale for name value and put him in a limited role?
