Blazers really need a trader. Nash is not a trader. He needs to trade Bonzi Wells for M Miller or J Posey, not Person. He can't even trade Sheed.

With Lebron, Z and Boozer (possible 3 all-stars), he can't even win 40 games this season. In order to reduce his pressure, he got rid of future all stars like R Davis and D Miles.
If Jerry Sloan coached the Cavs, Cavs should win 50 games this season.

I don't think Darius can become an All-Star unless he seriously changes a lot.

Blazers down because of Nash and Cavs down because of Silas.

Btw, Darius is a terrible player now, but NBA experts believe that he will be a NBA leading scorer.

For the short run, it maybe better without Davis.

Silas did not like Ricky's attitude, they had a surplus of guards/swingmen, and Ricky's contract was pretty big. This was a move for the future. They got good role players in Williams, Battie, and Brown and now have nice complimentary players to go along w/ Dajuan, LeBron, Carlos, and Z. Ricky just didn't fit into the grand scheme; neither did Darius.

Actually Ricky has an extremely reasonable contract.

I could have lived with Darius. He wasnt mentally affecting the play of the team. His bad shots went down. But his lazy, attitude will have to change before he can even think about sniffing all-star consideration. LeBron is like the opposite of Darius in this way. Maybe he should pay tribute to LBJ by actually REALLY trying to be great instead of just wearing #23.

They wanted in part to clear salary... Person is an expiring contract. They have been saying they want to cut payroll.

Maybe not 50, but playoffs is possible in the weak east. The Cavs had 2 swing men that were able to score 20 per night, a PF whom would grab 10 and drop 10, and the 2nd best center in the East. They have alot more talent then some of the teams whom are going to make the playoffs.

I think most people who follow the Cavs semi-closely are pretty happy with the job Silas has done. They were a real mess before he came in. It's really hard to turn around a losing culture, but he seems to have done it.

I really do think they will make the playoffs or be really close. Which is a huge thing for a team that was the worst last year. And Silas has really developed the talent down there. All of the players look much better under Silas. Especially the big men. From Boozer to Diop to Chris Mihm(when he was there).

No their objective is to cut payroll, if they miss the playoffs it would be a side effect in part to this trade which helps cut some payroll this offseason, some guys having off years, and teams around them getting better.

If you think they made this trade (Wells-Person) so they would lose... well that is just insane.

Ah another thing, I remember a few years ago, they were having a poor season and really turned it around. The Wolves started 9-8 and they are now the team with the best overall record in the NBA.

wow retarded post of the year candidate.

that team won 17 games last year. say it again. that team won 17 games last year. cleveland has been the doormat of the league for a long time. they are on pace to win 25-30 this year, and are the #2 draw in the league. how is a 10-15 game win increase along with a HUGE revenue and interest increase a bad thing?

silas has put together a team that can win every night. literally. they can compete with if not beat any team in the league, and they are younger than all of them. i think he's doing a miraculous job. he's building a long term winner that sadly he probably won't be around to enjoy in a few years.
