Didn't LA take Rush with the 20th pick before we took Woods with the 21st pick?

Kareem Rush had already been selected by the time that Portland picked.

Rush was 19, Woods was 20. I just checked on NBADraft.net.:D

Woods was really hyped up that year though, so it didn't seem like a bad pick at the time, and it still might turn into a good pick.

I just remember the Woods/McGrady comparisons over and over and over that year.

Well Rush wasnt available when it was the Blazers' turn to draft. If you recall, Toronto Drafted Rush at 20 and Portland drafted Woods at 21. Rush was traded to the Lakers with Tracy Murray for Lindsay Hunter and Chris Jefferies. Still I would rather have Woods over Rush. Woods has more upside and potential than Rush has even though Rush is putting up better stats this season.

Thanks for the correction. I thought we took Woods earlier.

I remember now La traded up to the Raptors spot.

I guess I am in the bad mood tonight.

Remembering last year('02) when we drafted Woods and passed on Rush I thought it was a mistake. Now looking back I still say we made a mistake not drafting Rush over Woods.

Any thoughts?

I don't see a substantial difference. It's not like one dude is going off for 20 a night and the other is out of the league. Both are marginal contributors. Both shoot a bad %. Rush scores more in more minutes. Q is a better rebounder. If anything, I'd give Qyntel the benefit of the doubt because he's played out of position quite a bit. All in all...not much of a difference.
