Interesting article. The knock on Kapono has been the same throughout his career. Great shooter, but can he do it against NBA guys? He's slow, doesn't have great handles, but he's a good passer and a smart player. I think that he'll get drafted mid-second round, and he'll be in a shooter role throughout his NBA career (3-4 years).

My impression is that he is at least a Matt Bullard or Lamond Murray, maybe even a Pat Garrity. Shooters are needed, even if other skills a just below NBA standard. And his skils may be good, just not quite as athletic as some.

you callin Lamond Murray a shooter? If he ends up anywhere near Lamond Murray, I'll be impressed.

About Murrray, did u mean Tracy Murray?

And if you meant Lamont, consider this. If you watched the finals last year, i forget what game kobe did it but he hit 2 three's two feet behind the line. nothing but net. He's a shooter, throw him in with Pat Garrity and Mke Miller

Jason Kapono = taller Eric Piatkowski

He'll have a nice NBA career somewhere

i think Kapono does not need as much quickness as players who do not not shoot as well as him, because Kapono has to be and will be guarded close allways at any level. if you are guarded close it's much easier to drive.
on the other hand this guy is as unathletic as it gets at his position and that just hurts his game, but nobody is perfect, therefore this dude is 6'8 that's not very short. of course he would have a great advantage if he would be 7'0 like Nowitzki or even taller.

Kapono is not as good as Rick Fox.

He's probably a better shooter, but that's it.

Fox is bigger(bulk wise).

Fox is tougher.

Fox is more athletic.

Fox is more agile.

Fox is a superb defender, which makes him MUCH better than Kapono in this regard.

Kapono isn't even a taller Eric Piatkowski.

Pike is actually more agile, a better ball handler, and a better defender(and he's only average) than Kapono.

He's not even a Garrity. Garrity has stuck cuz he's a great shooter in a big man's body. He can come in at the 4 and pull guys out. Kapono can't do that.

Kapono will stick in the league. He can shoot, and someone will always want a shooter. I think he's more of a Steve Kerr. Pure shooter, but nothing else. He should not go in the 1st round, but he would make a nice 2nd round pick to someone looking for a shooter.
