Yeah, a lot of the younger Midd hoops alums have been rallying around Jake and making the push for him. I tend to think he's going to get it, and it's a good hire. He's young, has good high-academic recruiting experience, and gets the place. People can say what they want about those Columbia years, but that roster had talent. Lots of those Columbia guys with eligibility left who enter the portal are going to be sought out. Eddine Bedri and Noland especially. I'd be fascinated to know what went wrong once conference play hit.

There's a former (think more recent) UVM assistant who has attempted to get in the mix at Midd too, but I don't think that got far. Speaking of Columbia, hopefully Tobe Carberry can find a gig this offseason. Jesse Agel is probably at the end of the line for his coaching career, however.
That seems it would be a strong hire for Middlebury. I would imagine Tobe Carberry lands on his feet. He's got a good reputation. D2 New Haven just opened so maybe he's ready rto be a HC. Jesse I think could still land somewhere. Maybe not in an assistants role but one of those "Special Assistants to the HC" type title. He's connected and say what you want, he is a good basketball mind. A staff could still benefit from his knowledge.

Fordham seems like a really thankless job.
It is. Working in an outdated facility with actual academic standards, and NIL isn't great. People speculating Kyle Neptune coming back or maybe Tobin Anderson. To me Tobin is a stretch since he wasn't great at Iona at a lower level. Kyle at least was at Villanova competing at the level Fordham thinks they should be at. But overall, Fordham has been a thankless jobs for the last 20 years.

Agreed. But is it better or worse than LaSalle? Or Duquesne? Not all A-10 jobs are equal, that's for sure!

This opening could have some ripples effects on the AE/CAA/MAAC/NEC.
I would say better than LaSalle but maybe equal to Duquesne. I've never been to Duquesne. I can't take credit for this but saw on X someone advocating for Rob Jones at Norfolk State. That man has deserved a better job for the last 10 years for what he has done there. He's a NY native and would be a home run hire for Fodham.

Let's keep talking NESCAC!
Something doesn't smell right at Colby. The team wasn't bad and everyone was optimistic about next season. Either something happened off the court or the new AD exerting her power to get her own guy in there. Seems kind of late to be doing this. Guys can still get in the portal due to the coaching change and the way these small college searches play out, it might not be until July before a new coach is named.

Firmly in the rumors category, but, some people online are indicating something is on fire in Queens. We'll see. But, are we shocked? The greatest to ever do it with regard to these things is there. I will say because of who is the coach there, my guess is people will try and amp this up and it could easily end up being a dud too. Who knows.

Way down ballot, there's also something being floated that would is pretty wild and funny, but could pop open another gig that is of slight interest to people here.
I heard someone on X allude to this last night. Didn't mention the school but pretty much mentioned what your saying.

Not much else they could do at this point. They were lucky to have an experienced head coach on staff. If he does well this season, can see him getting the job.
Just realized there is no "interim" before the title of head coach. So yea I guess a little surprised. I guess if you make him interim, then that basically kills the recruiting for this year.
