I figured if anyone wants to we can use this to talk about football.

I'll kick it off as there are some interesting games this week.

UNH vs Dartmouth in the Granite Bowl. I think its going to be a competitive game, I think the experience UNH has already this season should help them win.

Albany and Bryant have tough games vs Campbell and Cornell. I would be very surprised to see them walk out 2-0.

Maine is going to get beat at FBS Georgia Southern

URI should take care of business and be 4-0 going into their FBS game the following week

Outside the AE+URI

CCSU is going to Independent Merrimack. Should be a packed house and a very competitive match up.
SHU is on the road again against Norfolk State, couldn't make a prediction on this game if I tried.

A great slate this week, and these are my 3 games to watch:

#25 New Hampshire (-2.5) is the slight favorite on the road at Dartmouth for the Granite Bowl. Big Green was co-Ivy Champs last season with Harvard and Yale, but this is their season opener so it's hard to know what to expect. Wildcats are 2-1 and have a nice win vs. Holy Cross and a very close loss at FBS Ball St. A win should move them up the polls heading into their CAA opener next week vs. Albany. On the other hand, an upset may set the stage for Dartmouth to contend for an FCS Playoffs bid and some votes in the Top 25. Dartmouth heads to New Britain next week for CCSU's Homecoming game.

I'm also keeping an eye out on the final score for #7 Rhode Island (-16.5) game against Long Island. URI is coming off a its first playoff appearance in decades and has opened this year 3-0 but hasn't looked dominating at all. LIU is coming off Homecoming loss to Sacred Heart on last-play FG for the Pioneers. LIU made headlines the week before with their first FBS win ever over Eastern Michigan. They opened the season at The Swamp vs. Florida, so who knows how this one ends.

Finally, Central Connecticut (-2.5) heads out of state for the first time this season to play former NEC foe Merrimack in what should be a close contest. CCSU (2-1), the defending NEC Champs last lost an FCS game in a close one at #10 URI in the 2024 NCAA Playoffs. However, Merrimack has beaten the Blue Devils in the last 2 matchups, and this will be the Warriors first FCS opponent of the season, after 2 FBS losses and a D-II win.

Huge 16-14 win by Merrimack at home in front of 4K+........they will fit in fine in the CAA.
As would CCSU (y)

Game was a tale of turnovers and special teams plays. Merrimack was up 10-0 at Halftime, but CCSU outscored MC in the 2nd half 14-6.

Credit to MC for carving up the Central D on the last drive and getting the FG to win. Overall, as expected, it was a very evenly matched, tough battle that would great to be a conference game again in the future. :)

Going to be some exciting matchups next week in the northeast.

AE
UNH hosting Albany. Both teams are going to be hungry. I see UNH winning at home though, tough to beat a pissed off UNH team in Durham.
Maine hosting North Carolina school of who gives a shit. Maine even in their losses is very competitive for most of the game. I think they roll them.
SBU hosting Merrimack. I think this is going to be a hard fought game. If SBU plays like they did at lindenwood they lose this game. I think last week was a wake up call for them.
Bryant hosting Towson. First CAA game in the new "stadium" for Bryant, I think they are going to be fired up and steal a win from Towson.

INDY
Merrimack see above
SHU hosting Delaware State. Will be interesting to see if there is any construction framework on the away side of pioneer field LOL. It's a coinflip game for me. I could see either team winning. DSU has some talent.

NEC
Stonehill hosting LIU. Could very well be a game vs 2/3 top teams in the NEC this year.
CCSU hosting Dartmouth- Seeing as UNH just played like a bunch of turds on Saturday I have to root for Dartmouth to win out and help our OOC. I think they are the larger and more talented team but I don't think its going to be some blowout.

PL/IVY
Eh some games vs each other, some conference play for the PL. Not very interested in any of the games.

Well UNH won vs Albany in a so-so performance. Good to get the confidence back.
Maine let NC school of who gives a shit score a lot more points than I thought they would.
SBU finally showed up this week.
SHU with a gritty hard fought win vs DSU on homecoming. It seems they added end zone seating near the athletic center. Couldn’t tell but it looks like they may be laying concrete on the away side.
Another heart breaker for CCSU. Almost capitalized. Happy Dartmouth won though, need them to win every game lol.
Saw Holy Cross lost again, I haven’t checked yet but they are probably outside currans house with pitch forks.
Bryant gave Towson all they could handle. Just fell short. Awful call for the 2pt conversion to tie.

Week 6 incoming. Some important games in the northeast.

Delaware State vs Monmouth- Monmouth keeps rolling. I expect another 50-20 game.
Villanova vs UNH- I don’t think nova is anything special, I can see UNH winning at home if they play well, if they play crappy the southern cats take it.
SBU vs Albany- umm why is this game not the last week of the season? Also SBU needs this to stay in the hunt for the playoffs.
Rhode Island vs Brown- I think URI needs a sound win to keep hanging around the top 6 in the polls.
Harvard vs Holy Cross- will be interesting to see how badly Harvard beats them. HC is dealing with some injuries.
Yale vs Lehigh- This game will say a lot about the victor IMHO.
Sacred Heart vs CCSU- going to be another nail biter IMHO. if SHU has a hope for an at large they need this.
