First Team:
Wayne Simien, KU
Tony Allen, OSU
John Lucas, OSU
Brandon Mouton, Texas
Andre Emmett, Texas Tech

Second Team:
Keith Langford, KU
David Harrison, CU
Michele Morandais, CU
Arthur Johnson, MU
Rickey Paulding, MU

Third Team:
Aaron Miles, KU
Curtis Stinson, ISU
Jackson Vroman, ISU
Royal Ivey, Texas
Terrence Thomas, Baylor

I got to say, not impressed with the third team vs second team decisions that were made, mostly by almost anybody over Miles. For example, the inconsistent Paulding, who is averaging a modest 15 points per game and whose numbers have regressed across the board from last year. Plus it's not like MU's lofty league standing merited some extra props from the media. Morandais is another player who could have easily been third team, and I doubt anyone would argue against Miles being much more important to KU than Langford. Plus it's not like anybody beats Miles on the headband factor, except Morandais, he can stay. All I'm saying, is if Miles wants to make the coach's teams, he better bring back that headgear.

Miles continues to be one of the most underrated players in America.

He's 3rd in the nation in assists, shot 39% from behind the arc in league play, led his team to a second-place tie in the Big XII, a member of the league All-Defense team, averaged a near double-double for the bulk of the conference season and he gets placed on the freaking THIRD TEAM. Yeah, that adds up.

How he continues to get overlooked is beyond me.

Well Miles gets overlooked cause he's not the flashiest point guard in the game, and he doesn't score 15-20 ppg. Now-a-days for a PG to get noticed he has to be flashy as hell or a big time scorer.

I completely disagree. Miles gets plenty of recognition from every announcer on TV. I think that the people voting for the Big 12 are just really stupid. If this would have been a national media poll on All Big 12, I am sure that Miles would have been second team, and they might have even put him first, but I doubt it.

Plus, Miles' conference assists were gaudy as hell, 39% threes is very good, Miles has made some extremely flashy passes, and he's All Defensive. I would probably give him Defensive Player of the Year Big 12. We just have a bunch of dummies writing.

This is the same conference media that picked Mizzou to finish first in the league this year (as well second as last year, first the year before, etc.).

Announcers are giving Miles more props than last year, but the props are nowhere near the recognition your average back-to-back-Final-Four-winning-3rd-in-the-nation-in-assists player gets. Every Miles commendation has the obligatory "but he can't shoot" tag attached to it, which gets really old after a while (especially when he isn't a bad shooter this year, as the stats clearly show).

Not to sound redundant, but Miles being on the Third Team is a freakin crime.
Not so much a crime as it is first degree murder via pliers and a blowtorch.
