Figured with the work they are doing to multiple fields and the eventual new arena, Bryant should just have their own thread. Its better than posts being in 2/3 different ones.

Anyways so Rhode Island FC is going to be using Bryant for a year for their soccer program and these are the changes they will make.

I think the Endzone seating is great and Bryant should purchase it off of them when they move to Pawtucket IMHO. Obviously they didn't factor in the construction that will be taking place on the away side.

Bryant already has some nice athletic facilities with even better venues in the works for the future. They have a good deal of land (220 acres) in Smithfield that was donated by Earl Tupper (inventor of Tupperware) for the campus back in 1967 when it moved from the East Side of Providence by Brown (which bought much of its former campus). It is a relatively new campus by New England college standards. The academic part of campus feels more like a suburban office park than college given the building styles. Since it is mainly a business school, this may may have been intentionally planned to prepare students for their future work careers.

RIFC is having issues just keeping up with the escalating costs of its own Tidewater Landing Stadium in Pawtucket and paying for that. Construction has been halted at times. Seating is presently going in with the hope it will be open for the start of the next season ( which is one year beyond original projected date).

I would be disapointed if they aren't moving forward with the new arena. It would be a major upgrade and addition to the campus. I was excited about it and it could have many other uses aside from basketball. I believe the graduation ceremony is held on the main parking lot near the football field. Not the most picturesque of settings. Would be nice if they could at leat move it to the new fields.

I haven’t seen or heard anything on the new basketball arena either. They moved it from a stand alone facility behind the football stadium to a complete redo of the current facility - which hosts the main basketball “arena” plus a second similar one for students, the pool for the swim teams, offices, athletic training rooms, and general population gym.
