I'd say there's three things that can happen.

1. The other team gets to the line and you don't
2. You turn the ball over.
3. You give up OBs

In the end, it all adds up to being outshot by a large margin, either in FG's or FT's.

 

You bring up an interesting fact. Teams don't lose very much when they shoot over 50%, this is undeniable. This is the very reason why I can't get past the fact so called "superstars" who take almost all their teams shots (Allen Iverson is the biggest example of this!) shoot by far below this percentage. Iverson shoots 41% yet takes like 30 shots a game. I guess the same question could be asked: How often does a team win shooting 41%? The answer: Not often. That's sure some superstar isn't it?

You should check the facts before running your mouth. Phoenix is probably the hardest team in the league to beat when they shoot 50%. In fact they've lost all of 2 times (Once in OT) the entire season when they hit 50% or more of their shots. I guarentee you that is by far the least amount of losses out of any team in the league when the respective team hits over 50%.

 

Memphis did it on the 29th vs Seattle. I think we wound up shooting 54 percent.
