Down-ballot note of local interest: Tobe Carberry is headed back to Yale as an assistant. Spot opened up when Justin Simon got the Carnegie Mellon job. Or maybe there was already a spot opened up. Either way.

Colby has a real self-inflicted mess on its hands. Strahorn was very popular with the basketball alums, he was winning at a level Colby hadn't won in a while, it was an odd time of year, rumor has it he will be suing...

New assistant coaches at Albany:

Follow Up: Bryson Johnson did not get the Colby job. Went to Belmont assistant Sean Rutigliano instead.

In your periodic Will Brown Update: his women's job at Queens College did not last long. His resignation was officially announced on Wednesday. Now it's reported he'll be the boys basketball coach and principal at Green Tech High School in Albany, a typically strong hoops program that plays in NY's largest classification.

Queen's was a holdover...he always wanted to be close to his family and extended family. This is a great job for him...he gets to coach, it is 20 min from his house, and he gets to manage a school. Perfect marriage...but unlikely we see a kid go to Albany from Green Tech ;) I am kidding, he would never stop a kid from attending no matter what he feels about Mark Benson.

Should probably be the first official move on the 2025-26 Carousel instead of the last one on the 2024-25 Carousel, but Billy Lange is leaving St. Joe's to go work for the Knicks. Expedited the inevitable, most likely.

Not much else they could do at this point. They were lucky to have an experienced head coach on staff. If he does well this season, can see him getting the job.
Just realized there is no "interim" before the title of head coach. So yea I guess a little surprised. I guess if you make him interim, then that basically kills the recruiting for this year.

Yeah, the reports are Donahue got a multi-year deal.

It's just amazing that there were people practically begging for Lange's ouster...only for it to come in the weirdest and worst way possible: 2 months before the season, and inking a multi-year deal with the guy who just got dumped for back-to-back 7th place finishes in the Ivy League. At Penn, of all places.
